Last month, I lost my precious “fur baby”, Misty Kitty. It seems only yesterday that I introduced my new kitten here on the blog, and talked about how it was like having a new baby in the house!
She often starred on the Middle Aged Mama Facebook page, as well as on my Instagram feed … but all is not lost. I’ve been looking at all her photos, and was inspired to share a typical day in the life of my Misty Kitty. I think you’ll agree that though her life was short, she never lacked for love!
A Page from Misty’s Diary
7am
First thing each morning I head into Mummy’s bedroom for a cuddle and ear rub. Ahhhh – the purr-fect start to the day!
Then it’s time for breakfast. Mummy calls me her little Aldi Cat and sings a silly little song to the tune of “Spider Man”, because I will only eat Aldi catfood.
9am
I love going outside each morning to play and explore. Here I am making sure that the neighbour’s dogs are behaving. They don’t seem to appreciate my supervision though, and usually start yapping. Silly mutts.
11am
I feel like some company so I head into Mummy’s office for more cuddles and sometimes mischief … can you tell Mummy has a bit of a chocolate habit?!
12pm
Mummy works so hard, so I curl up in the chair next to her to keep her company. But … it’s … so hard … to keep … my … eyes … open … zzzzzz.
2.30 pm
It’s not all snuggles and snoozes though. An important part of my kitty duties is to stroll the perimetre (I prefer the top of the fence) to make sure all is right in the world …
3pm
I follow this up with a bit of roll around on the patio, before I find a comfy spot and catch another forty winks.
5pm
Miss 17 is home and that means more cuddles and kisses. Steady on there!
6pm
There’s movement in the kitchen. That can mean only one thing: dinner! Yay!
7pm
Daddy’s home from work! I give him a bit of a massage, by kneading my paws on his chest …
8pm
After dinner I like to curl up on the couch with the fam, to watch some TV and nap a little …
10pm
Mr 19 20 is home from work – more cuddles – it’s a hard life being a much loved kitty but somebody’s gotta do it …
11pm
I’ve been tucked up in my bed for the night. I usually try to run away and hide to show my people that I’m really a big girl now and don’t need to be locked up at night, but the truth is I love my cosy bed.
RIP Misty Kitty – we miss you every single day!
Linking up with My Little Drummer Boys, for an (almost) Wordless Wednesday …

Misty was one lucky cat to have you as her family.
I love how 1 small animal takes over an entire house!! My cat is asleep on the lounge at the moment so there is no way I can vacuum and disturb her!!
Love your collection of photos.
Janet Camilleri says
LOL only a couple of weeks before Misty died, I was impressed with home I managed to make our bed without disturbing “her royal highness”. I should have videoed it!
Lucy @ Bake Play Smile says

Alicia says
Aaaw Janet. She was just like a member of the family xx I hope it is getting easier by the day, it is hard losing a loved family pet xx
Janet Camilleri says
Just over 3 weeks now. I’m hopeful a new kitty will find their way into my heart, home and life soon xxx

I never used to be a cat person as I grew up with dogs, but in adulthood my brother’s always had cats and I’ve cat-sat when they’ve travelled. I probably would get myself a cat now ‘cept I’m in an apartment and I can’t. But I love the idea of the company (as long as I’m not know as the crazy cat lady!).
Misty was gorgeous and I can only imagine how much you miss her.

I’ve never had a dog! I reckon people who don’t like cats have never owned one. It’s only then that you develop that special bond with a kitty whereas dogs tend to go to anyone.

…And God shall wipe all tears from our eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things have passed away… goodbye little buddy. Semper Fi.

Such a cute post but so sad… I love that picture where she stands on the fence. Thinking of you Janet.
Janet Camilleri says
Yes, she really does look like she is surveying her territory and sniffing out any threats! I miss her so much, shed a tear this morning because she always used to be looking for love first thing in the morning.
