I’ve come up with an idea for Aussie Christmas cookies.
Why? Because the Americans have a tradition of baking Christmas cookies, which is all very well and good when the temperature has dipped below freezing.
But in our Aussie summer? The last thing we feel like doing at Christmas is slaving over a hot oven!
Aussie Christmas Cookies
So here is my
cheat’s guide Aussie alternative to Christmas cookies, as easy as 1, 2, 3 …
It’s air conditioned and cool, so stop complaining 😉
Head to the grocery store and stock up on plain chocolate biscuits (Arnott’s chocolate ripple for example); white chocolate; jaffas; and spearmint leaves.
No, not from the heat.
Melt the white chocolate – stove top or microwave – whatever works for you. Then pour a puddle of white chocolate “snow” on top of each biscuit.
Before the white chocolate sets, quickly add a jaffa and two spearmint leaves.
The great thing is, it doesn’t matter how artistically challenged you are – everybody will be impressed by the resemblance to holly! (And, just like, in my Simple Christmas Craft post, it’s optional to pop one lolly in your mouth for each one you put on your Christmas cookies …)
So there you have it – a fun way to celebrate the Christmas cookies tradition without getting all hot and bothered 🙂
Why not leave some out for Santa?
