… If I do say so myself!
I discovered this beaut blogging tip quite by accident, and couldn’t wait to share it with you all.
Are you one of those bloggers, who thinks of awesome ideas for posts when you’re lying in bed and trying to go to sleep?!
Yup, me too.
It’s such a pain – I know from experience that if I don’t make the effort to turn on the light, and write it down there and then, it’s lost forever. Of course by the time I do all this, I’m even more awake than I was to begin with!
However, there is a better way to deal with these night-time ideas.
I only thought of it because the bulb in my bedside lamp had blown, so I couldn’t turn the light on to record my thoughts. “Record” … got me thinking … Siri!
Yes, I picked up my iPhone, pressed the button and asked Siri to take a note. And I managed all this in the dark, so that in no time I had rolled over, secure in the knowledge that I’d captured that blog post idea and could do something with it next time I had a chance. Within seconds I was back in the land of nod.
So next time inspiration strikes in the middle of the night, grab your phone and get Siri to do the work for you.
Oh, and you might want to give your partner a heads-up so they don’t think you’re sleep-talking …

Good suggestion! My only issue here is that Suri usually takes 15 goes to get my initial request right, so I would be awake and super cranky before we even got to the note taking stage.

That’s a good idea. I tend to manually write a note on my phone. A note that I later completely forget about haha.

I don’t use Siri but I do use the notes section to record stuff. However I learned the hard way that I need to put more info into the notes or I will have no idea what it is when I go to read it the next morning!

I would end up waking up husband who gets cranky when he’s woken. I often wake up in the morning with completely indecipherable words written in my notebook from moments you’re referred to. Think how many brilliant blog posts I could have written 🙁

I know what you mean, I usually fire up the iPad and take notes xxx

My blogging tip is read, read, read. I get most of my inspiration from reading articles in newspapers or magazines and quite often cut articles out and keep them in a notebook that I carry around with me. The notebook is for writing ideas in as well.
