This is my fave op shop in the Redlands – the large Salvos Store in Cleveland, tucked behind Mitre 10 and Sizzler. This may or may not have something to do with the fact that it is easy walking distance from our home (not that I walk there very often although Miss 16 does!)
On our last visit, we came home with the following goodies:
What’s your favourite op shop – and what was the latest bargain you picked up?
Jacana says
Love Op Shopping. It is the best feeling when you find a bargain.

AND we’re recycling – helping to save the world!

I was in your neck of the woods at easter, you live in a lovely part of the world!! I love my local salvos shop for kids clothes and books!!
Janet says
I think so too Ann ๐
Grace says
Oh that Brown Sugar cardigan is gorgeous!
I love op-shops! You can find some real treasures!
Janet says
Yes, love hunting for treasure.

I love the Footprints Op Shop at Capalaba, always well priced and it is pretty big. Don’t like Endeavour, think it is very overpriced for second hand clothing (especially when majority is Target/Kmart/Big W, etc).
Janet says
Stef I love Footprints too (and not just because I used to run a magazine by the same name!) – and I have to agree, Endo’s is a bit overpriced these days. I’d have to REALLY love something to pay their prices.
Robomum says
Love that bolero! My mum walked in for a light fitting and walked out with clothing the other week. I was surprised at her. Go Mum!
Janet says
You just never know what you’ll find in an op shop, so if you see something you like GRAB IT! Coz chances are it won’t be there next time!
Tamara says
I love op shopping. Great photos
Janet says
Thanks Tamara. I particularly love the pic of Miss 16’s elegant swan-like neck!
Emily @ Have a laugh on me says
I haven’t been op shopping for AGES – I just have to go soon, just need to ditch the kids though otherwise it’s TOO much like hard work! Great cardigan top BTW x
Janet says
You could always give them $2 each to spend as they want – might buy you a bit of browsing time anyway!

Not been shopping for self for a while now. That being said did try to stop at the local salvos just yesterday – thankfully it was closed by the time i got there!
Janet says
Heh heh your hubster probably sighed in relief!

Well.. just TODAY I picked up a pair of Portland leather flats that still had the original $89.99 tag on them for $9! I also snaffled a cute pair of loafer/heels kind of shoes, a very cute Firestone bowl (fabulous condition) and a very sweet ALMOST Arabia wear cup, saucer and plate set. Very happy with my $20 spent… I don’t normally spend that much at once! Felt a bit splurgy!
Janet says
Isn’t it funny how we feel splurgy for spending 20 bucks at the Op Shop, when new you’d be lucky to bring home one thing!
Dani @ A Wishful Whimsy says
Some great buys there! I love op shopping, haven’t been in soooo long. Nothing quite like the feeling of getting a bargain! ๐

Yesterday haha I got tennis ball, wooden spoon ( bat or sand digging tool) and sand rake thing for 60c …my boys loved it.Thanks for linking up.

I love op shopping! The kids know what it means to go the “the oppie”… I’m not sure if my best find was even clothing. I have a *perfect* set of 4 stunning Royal Doulton demi-tasse cup and saucer sets with a to-die-for 20’s/30’s design in black, white and lemon on them. I love them SO much I won’t even use them!
