Well ladies and gentleman (mostly ladies, according to my stats), it’s time.
Time to host another Brisbane Bloggers Bash!
After the success of the Redland Bloggers Meetup last year – so successful bloggers travelled from as far afield as the Gold and Sunshine Coasts! – I’ve had numerous requests to organise another.
Last time, it was a daytime meetup.
So this time, we’re going to put our glad rags on and go out for the evening!
Announcing the Brisbane Bloggers Dinner
This is where you can help.
I’m thinking a restaurant around Mt Gravatt, Springwood, or even Bulimba, as it would be more central for (south) Brisbane bloggers, and now I’m not Ms Redland City Living, I have the freedom to move things further afield.
Trouble is, I’m not real familiar with the fine dining establishments in that neck of the woods.Β I had a bit of a look online but ended up more confused than I was to begin with ;-).
So, I’m just putting it out there: how about a “Brisbane Bloggers Dinner” one night in late February or March (not sure what night, any preferences?). We’re looking for somewhere that can cope with a blogger takeover group of up to twenty (or more!) blogging lovelies, and not bat an eyelid at how noisy things just might get, or mind the copious amount of pics being taken and posted on social media.
Keep an eye on my blog and social media channels for an announcement soon about date and location – in the meantime …
Okay hit me with your suggestions for the venue!
Linking up with Essentially Jess for I Blog on Tuesdays!
And if you are on Brisbane’s northside you don’t have to feel left out, turns out a bloggy pal is hosting one at Albany Creek on 15 Feb – find out more at Wonderfully Women!
Ms_MotorbikeNut says

Janet Camilleri says
It can be a blogger and interested peeps meetup, and you are most welcome to come along!
Kate says
I’m on the GC so I have no idea about places in Brisbane but I’d be keen to come if I can make it work around babies. Great idea x
Janet Camilleri says
Will let you know when it’s decided!
Lee-Anne says
Sounds a very appealing prospect…wonder if I can justify a trip to Brisbane ( LOL) instead of languishing here in Sydney π
Janet Camilleri says
OH totally – it’s a tax deduction, surely π
Jillian says
I’m in, as I’ve fairly recently started a blog. I live on the north side of Brisbane but am happy to travel to the southside. Sorry I not much help with dining places on that side of town either.
Janet Camilleri says
Yay! Can’t wait to check out your blog Jillian. By the way I just found out today there is a bloggy meetup happening at Albany Creek on Feb 15, details here: http://www.wonderfullywomen.com/brisbane-bloggers-get-together/.
Jillian says
Thanks Janet, I should be able to make the Albany Creek one but still looking forward to hearing when yours will be.
Janet Camilleri says
Details now available at https://middleagedmama.com.au/bookings-for-brisbane-bloggers-banquet/ – hope you can come!
Steph says
You’re not the only one of IBOT today to announce a Brisbane Bloggers meet-up, must be in the air π
I like on the (far) Northside as well but would be happy to come. Pepe’s mexican at Newmarket is fun and do big tables (http://www.pepesnewmarket.com.au/) May be too Northside but it is more really inner-city (not closer for me then city, just a great place π Or Ahmetts turkish is always a favourite. There is one at Southbank and one at Bulimba π
Janet Camilleri says
Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll suss them out!!!
Lauren @ Create Bake Make says
Count me in! I’m in Redlands, and am happy to travel anywhere in Brissy. I guess it depends on what kind of venue you are after. A few friends and I had dinner at Thai Orchid on Logan Rd in Mount Gravatt a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely. There are also some great places around Bulimba too.
Janet Camilleri says
I was wondering about the Thai Orchid! I’ll keep you posted π
Nikki@Wonderfully Women says
Great minds think alike!!!! I have organised a coffee & cake morning on Sat. 15 Feb, invite is on the blog. BUT I say bring on dinner! There are so many Brisbane bloggers but we never get to meet like our southern counterparts do. If we all make the effort we can forge fab friendships and help each other out. xx N
Janet Camilleri says
Nikki how funny is that?!!!! Great minds definitely DO think alike! By the way I have amended my blog post and added a mention of your blog meetup and a link π
Me says
I would love to catch up if I can make it. Not sure of any places at Mt Gravatt. Judy and I did meet up at Loganholme Hogs Breath and that was really nice although maybe a bit loud in terms of trying to chat.
I can’t make Wednesday nights as K and I start and Auslan course tomorrow night but otherwise I will definitely try to get there.
Have the best day and can’t wait to catch up again !
Me
Janet Camilleri says
Loganholme is definitely a possibility. I’m thinking maybe a Thursday Friday or Saturday night at this stage π
Lisa@RandomActsOfZen says
I would love to catch up again! Nights are a bit hard for me, as we’re a nightshift household, and days are always easier for me.
I’ll keep an eye on what you come up with xx
Janet Camilleri says
It will most likely be Friday night 28th March …
Janet Camilleri says
Details now available at https://middleagedmama.com.au/bookings-for-brisbane-bloggers-banquet/ – hope you can come!
Josefa @always Josefa says
No suggestions from me, unless you head down to Melbourne π Nights like this are such good fun! Can’t wait to hear all about it xx
Bec @ The Plumbette says
YAY! I missed last years because I didn’t come across your blog until after the event, but I’m keen as mustard to catch up. At Mt Gravatt there is a gorgeous Thai restaurant on Logan Road called Modern Thai where I have booked groups because of its great quietish atmosphere for great talking and catching up. There’s the Glen Hotel which is between Springwood and Mt Gravatt. I haven’t been here personally but have heard that the food is good and affordable. Because February is a short month and we have Valentines day we want as many bloggers to make it, maybe the date could be mid March? or during a weeknight in February. I guess they are my preferences because I have birthdays and weddings to go to, but I also understand that when a date is set, you can’t please everyone. x
Janet Camilleri says
I’m leaning towards Friday 28 March as I am on a conference in mid March! Will keep you posted!
Janet Camilleri says
Details now available at https://middleagedmama.com.au/bookings-for-brisbane-bloggers-banquet/ – hope you can come!
Annaleis says
Good luck finding somewhere nice. It’s amazing how loud a roomful of bloggers can be isn’t it?
Janet Camilleri says
Yes we were quite noisy last time with just coffee, imagine what it will be like when WINE gets added to the occasion!
Renee at Mummy, Wife, Me says
Great idea, Janet. Thanks for organising. I haven’t been out in awhile, but my suggestions would be Ahmet’s at Bulimba or South Bank. Also at South Bank is the Stoke House and if we started off early evening there would be a lovely view of the river and just that fun vibe that South Bank has on sunset. I’ve seen a few bigger parties there. Otherwise there’s Montezumas at Mt Gravatt, although it can get a little noisy. If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know.
Janet Camilleri says
Thanks Renee, I looked into Ahmet’s at Bulimba and it looks like parking is an issue there, same with Southbank (it’s paid parking which adds to the expense and I’m aware not everybody has lots of dosh). Will keep you posted!
EssentiallyJess says
Have fun ladies!
Janet Camilleri says
I’m sure we will – I think we should start fundraising to get you here too, just for the dinner!!
Deb @home life simplified says
I am in assuming it is a Friday or Saturday night as hubby is in Sydney other days. Both bulimba and mt gravatt suit me and I think Asian rtaurants are great or groups as can do a banquet or get lts of dishes to share. West end is also great as tons of restaurAnts. Let me know if you want some suggestions. Am out sat 22nd feb for my birthday dinner but mostly open rest of month and march xx
Janet Camilleri says
At this stage it’s looking like Mt Gravatt on Friday 28 March … will keep you posted!
Pinky Poinker says
I’d love to be there π Too far me me I’m afraid!
Janet Camilleri says
Oh rats and darn it! I wonder where Pro Blogger is being held this year? And if I’ll be able to get there??!
Toni @ Finding Myself Young says
Oh I want to come!!! I live on the far north side so have no idea about places on the southside. I like Southbank though (wont get lost going there lol).
Janet Camilleri says
It’s most likely Mt Gravatt Toni – I hope that’s not too hard for you to find!
Lara @ This Charming Mum says
Ooh, I’d love to come! Unfortunately I’m busy on the day of Nikki’s northside gathering – so bring on dinner! I also love Ahmets at South Bank, which some of the others have suggested. It’s nice and central I guess. But anything you organise will be great I’m sure. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the announcement π
Janet Camilleri says
Tentatively: Friday 28 March at Mt Gravatt. More details to come!
Emily @ Have A Laugh On Me says
I reckon do it in Brisbane!!!!!!! I can’t do Nikki’s as it’s my birthday on the 15th and I have plans (eg not cook, takeaway and cuddles with kids at home) or somewhere near there! I’m in – just give me time and a place!! Thanks for organising this lovely xxx
Janet Camilleri says
Mt Gravatt 28th March looks likely – just have to confirm the booking – they’re closed this arvo (between lunch and dinner) how rude!!!!
Tegan says
I really hate not living near other bloggers when I see meet ups being organised! Have fun ladies.
Janet Camilleri says
I know! It sucks. Maybe you could do a callout for interest in a bloggy morning tea or something in your town? That’s how I started last year. I was hoping for maybe 4 or 5 people and was staggered by the response!
Carolyn @ Champagne Cartel says
Oh yippeeeeeee! Yes please! I am so super close to Mt Gravatt, I can almost spit on it from here – so that’s my preference. Love Southbank too – very nice vibe. I don’t get out all that much so not sure of locations. Happy to go to wherever – and looking forward to meeting some of these wonderful ladies! (And men, in theory, too.) Thanks for organising, Janet. x
Janet Camilleri says
Pop Friday 28th March in the diary – more details to come …
Carolyn @ Champagne Cartel says
Done and done. That’s the weekend after the DPCON – busy!
Janet Camilleri says
Details of the Blogger Bash now available! https://middleagedmama.com.au/bookings-for-brisbane-bloggers-banquet/
Kirsten McCulloch says
Haha, I just had to pop over and find out what a blogger friendly restaurant might be π Sorry though, no knowledge of your neck of the woods π
Rita @ The Crafty Expat says
I don’t have a suggestion for a place to meet but I know that I will probably be in Brisbane between the 23 and the 25 of March… It’s not confirmed yet but I just would love to go to one of these meetings…
Janet Camilleri says
Oh no … so close and yet so far! It looks like it will happen on Friday 28 March … I was thinking the weekend before but apparently that’s when DPCON is on … any chance you can visit a little later?!
Rita @ The Crafty Expat says
Mmm, will see Janet. I haven’t booked yet and I’ll go with hubby and he is waiting confirmation from work for the dates.
iSophie says
You are so good! The Tassie meetup has never happened, gets talked about.. never makes it to the booking stages. I know I could arrange it, but I feel like I have not been blogging so much so can’t realy be ‘in charge’ of all that. #teamIBOT π
Janet Camilleri says
Umm maybe I am like a bull at a gate, I organised my first blog meetup within 6 months of starting my blog *blushing*
