It’s a big ask – finding decorator items the whole family will love.
But it’s not impossible! No matter what your taste or decorating style, I guarantee* everybody in your family will love these three items too. How do I know this? From the fact, that no visitor to our home – child or adult – can resist playing with them!
Best of all, each one can be purchased for under twenty bucks π .
Artist’s Dummy
You can pick one of these up from any artist supply shop, or I’ve also seen them at Ikea for $7.99. We call ours “Manny” (short for mannequin, and because we love Black Books).
Manny gets up to all sorts of mischief. He looks like he’s in a bad mood though, in the pic below …
Pin Art
I had no idea what this was called so had to post a photo and ask on Facebook (coz how do you Google something like that?!). Apparently it’s called Pin Art or sometimes a Pin Screen.
Chalkboard Sign
This one was all of $3 at Kmart so I just couldn’t resist. I had no idea just how much the family would love it, or how creative they would be with it. See for yourself!
It started with the above effort by Mr 22. Seems boys never outgrow their love of lavatory humour π .
Then the hubster came along and created this masterpiece π .
I think this next one was by Miss 19. It works on so many levels … does she mean “free the oranges” (which are actually mandarins)? Or seeing as the artist’s dummy has it’s hands bound with a hair tie, maybe his name is Orangiz and he is the one who needs to be freed?!
Sports Wall Decals
And if you are a family of sports lovers, you can even get life sized wall decals of your favourite Aussie sports stars!
Or have one custom made of your little athlete in action … I’m not into sports as a rule but think theseΒ sports wall decalsΒ are pretty awesome π .
Do you have any decorator items that are just plain fun for the whole family?!
*Guarantee: if your family doesn’t love them, you are all just plain weird.

Hilarious! I snorted my tea when I saw the Oranges.
We have a giant blackboard wall in our lounge (that you can also see from out the front of our house. Huge Windows.) and it has had all kinds of strange things on it, including a profanity ridden message for our neighbor that likes to stare through our window while walking her dog…

LOL I would have loved to see that!!! I came across a business recently that does blackboard paint in fun colours, I would love an aqua or turquoise one for our kitchen wall!!!!

I’ve seen those pin art things before, but don’t own one. I reckon the kids would love it. The chalk board sign from Kmart is a great way to label food at a party. Thanks for linking up Janet. x

They’re great fun Bec. I think we got ours from a Granny Mays or Wild or similar, although I’ve also seen them on the Crazy Sales website too π

I brought a small blackboard from Typo and the kids love it. i keep it in the kitchen, we write happy quotes, happy birthday messages, what’s for dinner and the kids just add starts and happy faces, it’s a hit in our house. #HIT

I came across a business last week which makes colourful blackboards – I’d love an aqua/teal one for my kitchen!
Nicole @ The Builder's Wife says
Bahahahahahahaha!!! That’s fantastic. My kids love the little blackboard we have hanging in our kitchen and love to leave each other random messages all the time. I can only imagine what trouble they would get up to with the artists dummy π
Janet Camilleri says
Sweet! Imagine the fun they could have π
Alicia O'Brien says
I hadn’t seen one of those pin things for ages! I didn’t even think they still existed.
You have the funniest and sweetest family x

They must take after their dad – he makes me laugh every day π
