It was a relatively low-key (and low-spend) month here – for Fashionomics Reporting purposes, anyway.
Work on the other hand has really picked up after a rather ordinary start to the year. My accountant said that business traditionally slows in the lead up to a federal election – will have to remember to allow for that in future business and budget planning!
Also, could there be a link between being busier at work and spending less at the shops? 😉
Dressing for a Gala Evening
I have a gala awards evening coming up, and knew I needed a “special something” to wear. As I walked past Millers this bright little sequin number caught my eye – as did the price – it was reduced to just $15, from $60!
There was a black version too but I liked the thought of a bit of colour, especially as being the middle of winter I will most likely need to add a (black) jacket and heels.
This is just a sneak peek – I’ll share photos when I actually get to glam up and wear it!
Tunic from Katies
Katies has some great discounts on their sales racks, perfect for a bargain fashionista such as “moi”. I was actually looking for something to wear to my grandma’s funeral and loved this tunic when I tried it on with jeans. Alas, it just didn’t look right with any of my skirts, so I didn’t end up wearing it then … but I’ve worn it heaps since!
I can’t find the original tag for it, but I’m pretty sure it was $39.95 to start with. I paid $15 🙂 .
From the Op Shop
And here’s my latest haul from the op shop, I spent $13 all up. I love the retro styling of the dress – very figure flattering! – and it was just $5; the scarf was a mere $1.
So what does the total damage look like?

Hi Janet, you did very well. I always have good intentions with the clothing shopping but get tempted way too much. My purchases this month included a cool pair of casual lace up shoes in pewter which are super comfy. I also purchased a couple of summers dresses for our upcoming Bali trip in September. Glad to hear business is picking up. I have been frantic. Just scored a gig with http://www.visitgoldcoast.com website doing a regular blog for them, so super stoked!

So pleased to hear you landed the Visit Gold Coast gig! And I love the sound of your new shoes, where did you get them from?
