Although the temperature continues to hover around 30 degrees each day, I can’t help but think (longingly!) of the cooler weather – and what I’d like to add to my wardrobe.
If only …
So what is on my winter fashion wishlist?
Black Knee High Leather Boots
On a practical note, my beloved black knee high boots are falling apart, so I’m looking for a replacement.
I’m fussy when it comes to boots. I don’t like the short ones that try to pass themselves off as knee high.
I don’t like a high or spiky heel – I want something comfortable that I can actually walk in. But at the same time I don’t like a flat heel because then it just looks like gum boots and there ain’t nothing stylish about that. So a low heel, that’s not too chunky.
Oh, and while we’re at it, I don’t want boots that cost an arm and a leg (because then what would I wear my boots on π … ).
Shoulder Bags for Autumn/Winter
I’m also in need of a new handbag. Browsing the shops and online I’ve noticed a couple of things – fringing is big. And as I don’t want to change my handbag every day, a neutral in black, brown or nude is probably (excuse the pun) more my bag.
My Winter Fashion Wishlist 2016
Now for the wishlist – as in I don’t *need* any of these but hey, a girl can dream!
Keep in mind that I live in sunny Queensland where winters are short and mild … and add to that, the fact that I am a “certain age” and so don’t just feel the cold like I used to. My internal thermostat has definitely gone up since I had my op about four years ago! So no thick sweaters for me …
All of the items above are from Crossroads and Katies – click on the image and then hover over the piece you like for details – and I think they are perfect for a Queensland winter.
I can see a definite theme happening – looks like this winter I am leaning towards the burgundy, wine, berry, coral, rose and blush shades. All of these would look great with denim and black leggings (which is what I tend to live in, during winter). Hmmm I think I can feel a layby or two coming on … π .
What’s on your fashion wishlist for winter?!

Oh I love that crossroads jumper! Totally impractical for winter here, but I still love it.

I *might* have just bought it online today … whistling innocently …

I definitely need a new handbag and wouldn’t mind some new boots too – if it ever gets any cooler in Brisbane!! π

It’s starting to feel a little cooler first thing in the morning … π

I’m in Melbourne and work in the city so I can barely even imagine wearing all those lovely tops in winter! It’s taken me YEARS to work out how to dress for Melbourne city winter!
Having said all that though, your pictured fashion is lovely. I just need it all in long sleeved fashion and throw in a warm, woolly coat…..and a beret or something! π
Janet Camilleri says
I wonder how I would go in Melbourne? I really feel hot here all year round now. Maybe I should tell hubster we have to move LOL

I love some of the things you’ve selected here, especially the boots. We do get colder winters in SWA, so I relish being able to dress up in hats, scarves and boots for a few months. It’s chillier today – I’ve got thick winter socks on as I type. Hope you get a few nice cool weeks this winter in QLD π
Janet Camilleri says
Yes, SWA is a lot further south than BrisVegas and the winds tend to come up straight from Antarctica in Winter – I know, I’ve been there!

I need something warm for that half hour in the mornings when I freeze my a$$ off at the train station. I also need a light jacket for weekends; I have work jackets and a hoodie, but I need something slightly inbetween for weekends.
Janet Camilleri says
I used to have a big coat for just that purpose. Since I left work though it’s just hung in my wardrobe!

I love those tasselled bags!!!
Janet Camilleri says
Me too! I still haven’t bought one but definitely want one!
