It can be tough planning a travel wardrobe when you’re really not sure what weather to expect.
That’s the predicament I’m finding myself in, with our upcoming trip to Europe (first world problems, I know!).
The answer of course, is layers.
I’ve mentioned before that you really can’t go past black and denim bottoms (whether shorts, jeans, or leggings) when travelling. I figure that by adding a few t-shirts, a jacket and cardy, plus a scarf or two, I’ll be able to weather all weathers ๐ .
Planning a Travel Wardrobe: the Key is Layers!
A simple striped t-shirt, shorts and comfy deck shoes which I imagine will be just the thing for exploring the Greek islands …
But perhaps the sea breezes might mean I’m looking for something a little warmer when we are in say, Venice, for instance (am I making you jealous yet?!).
Can I just tell you how much I am LOVING these jeggings? They are so soft and comfortable, and fitted to show off my legs in a way that regular denim just can’t manage. They’re also very flattering on my butt (according to the hubster anyway)!
I’m fully expecting that London will be cold and grey – must say I’m actually looking forward to being able to rug up! The secret to layering (especially with a travel wardrobe) is to try to stick to mostly neutrals – black, denim, white, grey.
Khaki is almost a neutral, and I was excited to find a shade of khaki that is almost silvery, and suits my fair colouring – score! Not to mention that Khaki + Anorak = two of the major trends of Autumn/Winter 2015. This jacket is soft with a silky lining, and being uncrushable with big pockets, is perfect for travelling.
I’m mostly using reds, pinks and plums as my accent colours, and will be packing the pink scarf (pictured above) plus a couple of bright t-shirts to lift my overall look.
Have you got any other suggestions for my travel wardrobe?! Be quick – we leave on 30 April!

Will you be blogging while you are away? As you know I’m so very envious. I’m off to Melbourne next week, a fly in fly out trip for a blog collaboration. It hardly compares to your trip of a lifetime. Can’t wait to hear all about it.

I’ve scheduled a heap of posts though not as many as normal, I’m hoping I might be able to post a couple of times while away as well x

I hope you and your hubby have an absolutely fantastic time away. I will be watching with interest as Mr SBB and I are doing a trip to Europe in August/September for our 25th wedding anniversary too!
It must have been a lucky year ๐
I am already planning my wardrobe for our trip – especially the footwear as the last thing I want is sore feet. We are planning on walking our feet off each day so that we can really experience the places that we are visiting so a great pair of shoes is really important.
Have a blast and stay safe xx

I would definitely add a skirt, possibly long in case it gets cold. Skirts are handy to feel dressed up night when yo hit the restaurants, they will also work with your assortment of tops
