I Must Confess: When I retire, I want to live in a place like Renaissance at Victoria Point.
For those not familiar with Renaissance Retirement Living, let me explain.
Regular readers would know that I love cruising holidays (in fact will be going on my 3rd in December!).
I think that living at Renaissance would be just like that. There are plenty of activities and outings available – and just like on a cruise, you can participate as much or as little as you like. It’s just nice knowing that the options are there.
And the facilities? Well, prepare to be impressed! You will find an indoor heated pool and gym, media room, library, billiards room, bar and outdoor area, bowling green, croquet court, and a 300 seat auditorium/ballroom which I hear regularly hosts some great entertainment.
There’s a hairdresser should you feel the need for some primping or pampering, plus doctors and other allied health services available. All this set amidst such beautiful gardens, the whole place has a real resort feel.
Unlike cruising though, you are not isolated or limited to the site – Renaissance is located right next door to the Victoria Point shops, cinemas, library, restaurants and medical facilities.
The other thing I particularly like about Renaissance is that it’s family friendly – they even have a playground for the grandkids!
But don’t just take my word for it. If you live in the Redlands area, the annual Renaissance Spring Fair is coming up on Sunday 19th October from 9am to 2pm – it’s a great opportunity for you to see for yourself.
There will be all the usual fete stalls, entertainment, food and fun for all ages – plus a few extras, like cooking demonstrations from The Contented Chef, a seedling potting station, and a photo booth like you’ve never seen before!
Get a head start on your Christmas shopping, or make a date of it and just enjoy the atmosphere and the gorgeous Spring weather.
The Renaissance Retirement Village is located at 36 Bunker Road, Victoria Point; phone 3820 7700.
Where would you like to live when you retire?

I want to retire to the city. I want to be able to walk everywhere and do all the things. I’m assuming that at this point in my life I’ll be able to afford to do all the things that I am unable to do now.

Looks divine. When can I move in? Lol. I want to retire to one of the little coastal villages just across the border into Northern NSW. I love it down that way.

Sometimes I want to live in the city because I live in city all my life and I don’t know how I’ll survive outside a city. Sometimes I want to live in a country to have a different life style and get some fresh air. Or anywhere that feels like holiday everyday. I still have many years to make up my mind… :p

Girls! We are far too young to be thinking about retirement no matter how lovely the places are. We are in the prime of our lives! Does look fantastic though Janet 🙂
I’ve been reading a Jean Kitson book about embracing menopause just so you know;)
